Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly share first pic as they reunite for BGT

Auditions have started!

Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have finally reunited for the new series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Ant, 41, took some time off last year, including missing the latest I’m A Celebrity series, after he was convicted of drink-driving and went to rehab to face his demons.

But now he’s back with his telly partner Dec and the Geordie duo began filming for the 2019 auditions on Friday at the London Palladium.

Sharing a selfie to their shared Twitter account on Friday, the pair were all smiles as they told fans “the boys are back in town”.

The post was captioned: “#BGT 2019. Audition day 1. The boys are back in town!”

Of course, fans were over the moon and expressed their excitement to have the pair back on screens soon.

One person said: “So happy to see you guys back together!” while another wrote: “Wooo glad to see the iconic duo reunited. You’re both looking well.”

A third tweeted: “I’m literally shaking right now!!!!! Welcome back Ant.”

It comes after Richard Arnold confirmed Ant and Dec would begin filming this week during Thursday’s Good Morning Britain.

The show’s entertainment correspondent said: “I can officially announce that after a year off Ant will start filming on the new series of BGT.

“Can you believe it has come around again? How the time flies.

“They’re reuniting on Friday for the auditions of course, getting underway in London on Friday before the rest of the BGT continue their search for talent next month.”

GMB co-host Ben Shephard admitted Ant is “looking well”, and her fellow presenter Susanna Reid joked he will still “clean up” at next week’s National Television Awards, where Ant and Dec Donnelly are aiming to triumph in the Best Presenter category for an 18th consecutive year.

This comes after Dec admitted last month that BGT would be “back to normal”.

Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “It’s back to normal for BGT – fingers crossed it will be great.”

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby stood in for Ant on I’m A Celebrity alongside his sidekick Dec.

However, she said at the Dancing On Ice launch last month that her stint on the show was just a “one-off, once in a lifetime adventure”, hinting that Ant could return this year.
