Ant McPartlin enjoys “best day ever” with family at water park

He will remain off TV until 2019

Ant McPartlin has been pictured enjoying a day out with family at a water park.

The television presenter’s sister Sarha shared a photo to her Twitter account over the weekend showing Ant, 42, posing with members of his family at Liquid Leisure Aqua Park.

It’s the first time Ant has been seen since he announced plans to stay off TV until 2019.

Ant announced earlier this month he will remain off TV until next year.

It means Ant will not host this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, which traditionally begins in November.

Ant and telly partner Dec Donnelly, 42, have also announced they won’t record a series of Saturday Night Takeaway next year, as production would normally have started already.

A new series of Takeaway will instead air in 2020.

Ant revealed last year he’d been tackling drink and prescription painkiller problems that led to a voluntary stint in rehab.

He returned to TV to co-host I’m A Celebrity 2017 with Dec and this year’s Saturday Night Takeaway, but Dec was forced to present Takeaway’s last two episodes solo after Ant was involved in a drink-drive crash in south-west London.

Dec also host the Britain’s Got Talent live shows solo as Ant took time away from spotlight.

Ant said earlier this month: “My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off. I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year.”

Dec added: “Whilst I am obviously sad at the thought of being without my best friend in Australia this year, I am proud of the work Ant has been doing privately and I am fully supportive of his decision.I’m looking forward to us both being reunited on screen in 2019.”

Meanwhile, ITV has confirmed it’s “completely supportive” of Ant’s decision to take time out and “look forward to him returning to ITV next year.”
