Holly Willoughby triumphs at TRIC awards, beating Ant and Dec

Holly Willoughby is officially the most popular TV personality on our screens.

The This Morning presenter was left stunned after winning three gongs at the TRIC awards yesterday.

She EVEN beat comedy duo Ant and Dec and Celebrity Juice co-star Keith Lemon to bag the TV Personality Of The Year trophy.

Juggling her three awards Holly wrote to her 1.9 million followers: “What a day….. hat-tric(k).”

If coming out on top with TV Personality Of The Year wasn’t enough, the blonde beauty also won Daytime Programme Award as host of This Morning and Satellite Digital Programme for Celebrity Juice.

Speaking about her win over Ant and Dec, Holly said: “It’s amazing. They win absolutely everything, that is amazing. I’m delighted, I can’t even begin to tell you how delighted I am.”

Fans immediately commented on the Instagram snap to praise the 36-year-old.

One wrote: “@hollywilloughby well done. you make so many people smile.”

Another added: “@hollywilloughby well done you deserve them awards.”

Meanwhile other winners included Kym Marsh, June Brown and Keith Lemon.

Corrrie star Kym won Soap Personality for her incredible storyline after her character, Michelle Connor, lost her baby boy at 23 weeks.

Speaking about winning the award the actress said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the way our storyline has been received.

“It was obviously something very close to mine and Simon’s heart.”

The 40-year-old added: “All we wanted to do was tell the story truthfully and reach out to people, to make a difference somehow and we’ve definitely done that.

“I’m so proud of Corrie for doing this storyline, we didn’t just dip our toe in the water, we told the whole story.”

Elsewhere, EastEnders’ star June Brown won a special TRIC award for her long-running role as Dot Cotton on the BBC soap.

The 90-year-old was praised for her “incredible” career as she was presented with the gong.

It was definitely ladies’ day!
