New reports suggest Angelina Jolie filed for divorce after Brad Pitt flew into a drunken rage at eldest son Maddox.
According to The Sun, Pitt, 52, was ‘out of control’ after clashing with adopted 15-year-old Maddox.
The Fight Club star was said to have gone ‘wild’ on a private jet as it flew from France and the teenager was at the centre of Pitt’s outburst.
It was reported on Thursday afternoon Pitt is now being investigated by the FBI and social services in Los Angeles.
According to reports the family were on a flight home from France, when the 52-year-old Thelma and Louise actor allegedly became ‘wasted’ and started ‘screaming’ before continuing the ‘rant’ on the tarmac when the plane landed, trying to leave the scene in a fuel truck.
It was an incident sources claim was the final straw for Jolie, who then decided to call time on their marriage.
Court papers list their date of separation as September 15 – the day after their private jet touched down in Los Angeles.
An anonymous call was made to the hotline of the LA County Department of Children and Family Services, which interviewed Pitt and his warring wife.
But the FBI is also investigating the incident because it took place in the air.
Breaking their silence over the incident, two members of the Brangelina household revealed to The Sun: “There was a disagreement with the eldest boy.
“I know it started on the way to the airport before the plane took off and escalated on the plane.”
However a source stressed to the DailyMail contrary to child abuse allegations, Pitt did not touch the teenager at any time.
The source added allegations of abuse against the actor, both verbal and physical, have been ‘exaggerated or fabricated’.
A police car was seen arriving at the Jolie-Pitt compound in the Hollywood Hills on Thursday morning, where Pitt is believed to be staying.
Jolie meanwhile is believed with the kids at a rental home in Malibu.
A spokesperson for Pitt reiterated the actor’s statement from earlier in the week in which he said: ‘I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids.
‘I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.’
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on Monday for ‘the health of her family’, two years after they wed at their French estate Chateau Miraval.
The actress filed papers citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and asked for physical custody of the couple’s three biological children Shiloh,10, 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, as well as their three adopted children – Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, and Zahara, 11.
