All our Christmases have come at once with the release of a new set of panto-themed 50p coins

They're behind you!

If Christmas coffees, advent calendars and Grinch pyjamas haven’t convinced that the holidays are coming, then surely this will.

News reaches Ent Daily that a set of brand-new 50p pieces have been released.

And, what’s more, they depict scenes from the nation’s favourite pantomimes.

Oh yes they do!

The Cinderella 50p tells the story of how the Fairy Godmother makes Cinderella’s dreams come true – turning a pumpkin and mouse into grand stage coach and driver with a tap of her wand.

The Aladdin coin shows the genie coming out of the lamp, while the Jack and the Beanstalk coin sees our hero climbing his giant beanstalk.

The Snow White coin has the name of the panto imprinted in the shape of an apple, while Dick Whittington features proudly in the middle of his coin, his cat Tommy Tittlemouse walking by his side.

And, if you want to own a set, you’ve got to be quick – only 2019 of them are available to buy!

In other 50p news, The Royal Mint has announced that a special 50p to mark Brexit will go into circulation on October 31 – the day the UK is set to leave the EU.

The coin will feature the words: “Peace, prosperity and friendship with all nations.”
