Thankfully, all is "fine" now

Alex Jones has lavished praise on the National Health Service after visiting hospital twice in just one week.

The One Show host posted a brief message to Twitter sharing her gratitude towards the doctors, nurses and paramedics who had attended to her loved ones.

She also assured fans all is “fine” now, while deciding not to elaborate on the reason for the hospital visits, or who exactly needed treatment.

Alex wrote: “The NHS are truly brilliant and we should all be so grateful to have such a remarkable service.

“Found ourselves in hospital twice this week. All is fine but the standard of care from paramedics, nurses and doctors has been second to none.

“A huge, heartfelt thank you x.”

Thousands of fans ‘liked’ her post, with hundreds sending well-wishes to her family and revealing their relief that all is okay.

One told her: “Sorry to hear this Alex, very glad to hear all is fine. I have had to use them a bit myself [so] am very grateful for their help over the years.”

Another said: “Oh no, what has happened? I work for the NHS so it’s good to hear we are doing something right! X.”

A third added: “Hope all is ok, Alex.”

Last week, the telly favourite marked her baby son Teddy’s very first birthday with a sweet social media tribute.

The 40-year-old prefers to keep her child away from the limelight and rarely posts any images of him to her Instagram account.

But she relaxed her rules last Monday to mark the little one’s big day.

Sharing a beautiful image of herself and husband Charlie Thomson holding Teddy, she told fans: “We can’t believe that our little boy is one today.

“What a year it’s been. Teddy has brought more love to our lives than we thought possible. It’s also been the steepest of learning curves.

“We’re so grateful for having this tiny man so big in personality in our world. Happy birthday little Ted. Penblwydd hapus Cariad.”

Alex and Charlie, an insurance broker from New Zealand, welcomed Teddy, their first child, on January 22, 2017.

She will now use her experience as a first-time mum to write a book called Winging It: Parenting In The Middle Of Life! which is due out in April.

“It’s a light-hearted account of having a baby in your late 30s with tips from experts for first-time parents who are ‘winging it’ like us,” she told Mail Online.

Alex previously asked Instagram followers to send in any funny parenting stories or tips that she could include in the book.

“Along with the sheer joy of falling pregnant there are also plenty of unexpected twists and turns, and the realisation that most new parents are still pretty lost when it comes to the parenting game, and not just the over 30s,” she said.

“Being a mother is being judged… but in my new book which will be coming out [this] spring I want myself and lots of other mums and dads to candidly share some of our stand out moments, good and bad.

“I want the book to help in arming parents-to-be with some of the surprising facts that nobody tells you, while being a laugh along guide for those experiencing the same highs and lows. We’re all in it together.”
