| Updated:

Abbey Clancy threw some cheeky shade at husband Peter Crouch following his funny tweet about the royal baby.

And it left fans divided over whether Abbey or Peter won Twitter!

Footballer Peter, 37, had poked fun at his famous 6ft 6in height by posting a photo of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge waving to the skies outside the Lindo Wing on Monday.

The couple had just emerged from the hospital with their newborn son and were waving up towards hospital staff leaning out of windows across the road.

But Peter quipped the couple had been waving up at him, tweeting: “Congratulations! It was a pleasure sharing your big day with you.”

Fans rushed to tell Peter his tweet had made their day, branding him “hilarious” and “legendary” – until his model wife Abbey Clancy stepped in with a zinger!

She simply tweeted: “Why are you never this funny at home?”

Ouch!

Many followers reckoned Abbey had won the Twitter exchange, with one fan replying: “Even funnier than Peter Crouch’s original post! #BeatenByYourMrs.”

Another agreed: “Tweet of the year!”

A third added: “Every man loses a bit of his intelligence in the presence of a beautiful woman, there you go!”

Peter may not be that funny at home, according to Abbey, but he certainly scored a winner with this tweet, with other fans saying he came out on top.

One fan even said: “Close Twitter down for the day because Crouchy has won at it!”

Another agreed: “You’re the best thing to happen to Twitter.”

A third said: “Crouchy for PM!!!! and a knighthood for this tweet.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their second son, the fifth in line to the throne, on Monday.

They gave the world its first look at the little boy just hours later, posing for the usual photocall outside the Lindo Wing steps at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.

Earlier in the day, their other children, Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, had been to the hospital to visit their new brother.
