The cheapest supermarket for Christmas dinner revealed as Brits ‘feel the pinch’

Christmas dinner is at the heart of all festive celebrations. After all, it’s the most important meal of the year!

But the question everyone is asking is which supermarket offers the cheapest meal?

Luckily for us, Which? has revealed the cheapest supermarket for Christmas dinner this year, just in time for the festive season.

It has shopped around for everything a family of six will need for Christmas dinner and totted up the price.

So all that’s left for us to do is let the Christmas feasting begin!

Aldi offers 2021’s cheapest Christmas dinner

According to Which?, Aldi offers the cheapest Christmas dinner experience for only £28.17 or just £4.70 per person.

This includes the turkey, along with vegetables such as Brussels sprouts, carrots, parsnips and, of course, roast potatoes.

It also covers cranberry sauce, sage and onion stuffing, a luxury Christmas pudding and mince pies.

It’s the perfect meal for anyone looking to save money this Christmas.

Who else is in the line up?

Asda came second with a full Christmas dinner costing £28.49 for a family of six, which is just 32p more than Aldi.

Just a few pennies more is Tesco’s Christmas feast, coming in at £28.88.

Following Tesco is Lidl with a great Christmas meal that costs £29.46.

The other three stores on the list were Morrisons at £32.88, Sainsbury’s for £32.90 and Ocado for £38.28.

Which supermarket is the most expensive for Christmas dinner?

Which? has also revealed the supermarket at the other end of the scale.

And that honour goes to Waitrose.

The high-end supermarket has the priciest Christmas dinner, costing £43.52 – or £7.25 per person.

That’s £15 more than the cheapest Christmas meal.

A Which? retail editor said: “Many households will be feeling the pinch this Christmas due to pressures on the cost of living.

“It’s worth knowing that you can make significant savings depending on where you buy your festive food.”
