Nostalgia fans thrilled as retro drinks brand WKD launches new canned cocktails

And one of them is gin based!

| Updated:

Nostalgia fans are thrilled at the news retro drinks brand WKD has launched a range of cocktails in cans.

If you were a teenager in the 90s, you’ll be well aware of the brand.

Thirsty Brits drank around 200 million bottles of alcopops as the decade ended and WKD was by far the most popular brand.

It came in bottles, with the drinks looking pretty fluorescent in hues of bright blue and orange.

However, the brand appears to have grown up, and its new WKD MIXD cocktail cans actually look lovely.

And a lot less colourful!

The cocktails are available in three “lip-smacking” flavours – Raspberry Rhubarb & Vodka, Apple Elderflower & Gin and Peach Passionfruit & Rum.

So, it would seem, there really is something for everyone.

OMG! Can’t wait to try them!

A rep told ED! that the drinks are no longer highly coloured and are actually the same colour as the cans.

“Introducing three new WKD MIXD cans, everything you want in a premixed tipple with no effort required,” a statement said.

However, the brand has clearly lost none of its cheekiness.

“WKD MIXD will take you from ‘prinks’ to party with sass in every sip and the cheeky spirit of WKD crammed into every can,” the rep added.

Perfect if you’re enjoying the last of the summer sunshine at a picnic, the drinks can be enjoyed straight from the can.

Or, if you’re relaxing in your garden, grab a glass and some ice for a more grown-up serve.

“Bet they taste amazing!”

“OMG! Can’t wait to try them,” said one self-professed WKD “addict”.

“Oooh, raspberry and rhubarb!” said another, picking their soon-to-be favourite flavour.

“Apple and elderflower sounds soooooo nice!” exclaimed another.

“These look amazing,” said another.

OMG we definitely need these for our next girls’ night,” declared another.

Where can I buy them?

If you feel the same, the new cocktails have 5% ABV and are on sale now for just £1.69 each.

You can pick them up from Londis and Budgens and they’ve just recently been spotted on the shelves of Sainsbury’s.
