M&S shoppers divided over salted caramel CRISPS

Marks & Spencer has divided its shoppers by selling salted caramel tortilla rolls for Christmas.

One shopper shared a photo of the crisps to Instagram alongside the caption: "Christmas Crisps. Which sound the most edible to you?"

The packet says the snack has "salted caramel seasoning, half coated in caramel chocolate".

The packet costs £1.75 and are described as "white chocolate and caramel coated corn tortilla rolls with a tasty caramel seasoning".

Shoppers didn't know what to make of the snack, with some not liking the idea of combining sweet and savoury.

One person said: "WHAT?! Salted caramel tortilla rolls?! Just... no."

Another wrote: "Not sure about this."

But others loved the idea.

Müllerlight has also launched two other limited edition flavours for the festive season - Irish coffee and gin and tonic.

Michael Inpong, chief marketing officer at Müller, said: "With the constant shifting consumer behaviour, we need to find smart ways to grow the brand and drive category growth.

"We’ve already strengthened the core with a new and improved recipe, and we’re launching two new limited editions, Müllerlight Irish Coffee Flavour Yoghurt and Müllerlight Mince Pie Flavour Yoghurt.

"Gin is the UK’s favourite spirit, and now people can enjoy the taste in a yoghurt that is also fat free, high in protein and contains 0% added sugar."
