The Graham Norton Show

The Graham Norton Show is a late night chat show that has been running for 23 series since February 2007.

It was originally broadcast on BBC2 but moved over to a slot on BBC1 in October 2009.

The programme usually airs on Friday nights but initially aired on Monday evenings when it first switched to BBC1.

However, when Friday Night with Jonathan Ross came to an end, it was announced that Norton would be taking over that gap in the scheduling.

The Graham Norton Show was originally slated to last for only 13 episodes. But it kept getting renewed again and again.

Host Graham signed a three-year deal with the BBC in 2017, meaning the show will continue until at least 2020.

It is believed the deal also covers Norton’s BBC Radio 2 show, Eurovision commentary duties and other projects for the Beeb.

Production used to take place in South Bank’s London Studios, but this moved over to newly-renovated BBC Television Centre in April 2018.

The Graham Norton Show airs internationally in Sweden, Latin America, Poland, Canada, Ireland, Australia and several other European countries.

It is also broadcast in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.

Norton manages to attract the biggest names to his sofa and has become the most popular chat show host in showbiz.

Among the hundreds and hundreds of A list names to have sat with Graham in just the first series are: Joan Rivers, Dustin Hoffman, Dame Joan Collins, Enrique Iglesias, Joanna Lumley, Dennis Hopper and Jon Bon Jovi.

Other mega stars to have joined him for a natter include Courtney Love, Rihanna, Martin Sheen, Robert Wagner, Dame Edna Everage, Susan Sarandon, Sandra Bullock and Goldie Hawn.

Divisive Hollywood stars Mel Gibson and Johnny Depp have proved two of Norton’s most controversial guests.
