Lidl launches new gin-infused CHEESE as part of its Christmas food range

There’s nothing better after you’ve stuffed yourself silly with turkey, stuffing and Christmas pud than a festive cheese plate.

Paired with a glass of red, most would say that it rounds off the dinner perfectly.

And, while cheese and wine have long been a traditional end-of-dinner pairing, supermarket Lidl has decided to shake things up.

Step forward the store’s newest launch – out tomorrow.

The gin-infused cheese.

Yes, you read that correctly, Lidl is launching a truckle of cheese infused with gin.

“Two of my favourite things in one!” said one gin and cheese fan. “That’s gotta be a good thing!”

Costing just £1.99, the cheese – available in store only – is part of the Deluxe Cheese Truckle range.

The Wensleydale with Hortus Gin & Dried Fruit truckle is delicately infused with Lidl’s Hortus gin and studded with dried fruit.

Also in the range is the Christmas Tree Smoked Cheddar. It’s made from blended cheddar smoked with Nordic pine.

While there’s also a mature cheddar infused with balsamic onion.

Also among the cheesy offerings to launch this week is a huge baked camembert topped with either chorizo or fig, maple and pecan.

It costs £5.99.

We’re almost tempted to skip dessert and head straight to the cheese course.
