Aldi set to sell brilliantly-designed tote bag equipped with a built-in wine dispenser!

Hopefully it will be available in the UK soon

| Updated:

With consumers turning to more sustainable options than plastic straws and disposable coffee cups when it comes to drinks on the go, it seems like Aldi is getting in on the same waste-limiting action.

However, the discount store’s contribution to helping save the planet when it comes to takeaway imbibing comes with a lot more style – and potentially, more units of alcohol.

That’s because the supermarket chain is about to release a brilliantly-designed tote bag that is equipped with… a built-in wine dispenser.

The bag makes use of a removable pouch, an insulated wine cooler and a concealed tap to ensure those who carry it around with them have an easily-accessible source of vino (or any other drink) for whenever they may require it.

It is scheduled to be available for sale – in a range of designs – on December 21 as part of Aldi’s Special Buys offerings.

However, unfortunately for those who may wish to have some Sauvignon Blanc to hand for a trip down the shops or while visiting friends and family, it seems the bag will be only be available to Australian customers in the near future.

Looks like a great Christmas present idea.

At just $25 – around £13 – it will certainly be a bargain for those down under who enjoy emptying a goon (the sliver foil pouch that contains the liquid in a box of wine) or two.

But it should also have other drink-based uses beyond storing alcohol, including being a very useful container to help refresh pets while out walking them… or even a party of kids!

Potential buyers seemed impressed by the bag’s versatility as they commented about it online.

One person commented: “Whilst I’m a non drinker, it’s a great idea for any beverage.”

And another remarked: “Looks like a great Christmas present idea. We could even take them to work.”

Shame it is only available in Oz. If we’d known about it before now, we might have asked Ant and Dec to bring us a few back with them after the end of I’m A Celebrity.

In other Aldi news, the supermarket has slashed a quid off the price of prosecco in time for Christmas and this festive and flashing, snow globe-styled light costs under £6.

And Kevin the Carrot has made a popular return to TV screens in Aldi’s Christmas ad, facing new enemies in the Leafy Blinders.
