The Chase replaced for a month by Rylan Clark-Neal’s new quiz show

Host reckons it's the new Deal Or No Deal

| Updated:

Oh dear, this news could cause World War Three.

Word reaches us that The Chase is being taken off air. Only for a month… but still!

Bradley Walsh fans are unlikely to be happy about missing out on their daily fix, as Rylan Clark-Neal fills his slot – albeit temporarily – with new show Babushka.

Rylan is, of course, very excited about his first project as a quiz master and has been teasing the arrival of the Russian dolls-based show on Twitter.

In the new tea-time programme, contestants will be in with a chance of winning a big cash prize if they choose a Russian doll that has smaller doll inside it.

If they choose a doll that is empty, they will lose all of the money they have accumulated.

The 27-year-old This Morning host admits: “It sounds crazy but it is so good.

“The reason I fell in love with it is the same reason all those years ago that everyone fell in love with Deal or No Deal, it’s all down to the [other] contestants to win the money.

“It is so good. It’s brilliant and it is coming soon!”

Before everyone panics, Babushka definitely has been commissioned for 20 episodes.

And Chaser Jenny Ryan has already assured everyone that The Chase is just having a little rest – and she urged viewers to take the replacement show to their hearts.

She posted to Twitter: “Nooo, I hope #TheChase fans give @rylan’s #Babushka a chance – I’ve heard good things!

“We’re having a few weeks off, you’re in good hands x.”
