Scarlett Moffatt ‘gutted’ as family are axed from Gogglebox

It just won't be the same without them!

Scarlett Moffatt has announced that her family have been axed from the next Gogglebox series.

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner took to social media on Monday to share the sad news and said she was ‘gutted’ that her parents are no longer allowed to be on the show.

On Instagram she wrote: “We are going to miss doing #gogglebox so so much but can’t wait to watch the new series (good luck my fellow goggleboxers you will smash it love the Moffatts).”

The 26-year-old also responded to a fan and said: “We are gutted too, thought my Mam and dad (and little Ava) would still be able to do it but we will still be watching. [sic]”

According to the Sunday People, her parents Betty and Mark have been dropped by producers as the show “wouldn’t work so well without all three of them.”

A TV insider said: “The whole premise of Gogglebox is normal people commenting on the TV. Scarlett is now a celebrity in her own right so it made sense she wouldn’t continue.

“She and her parents came as a package. It wouldn’t work so well without all three of them.”

We think it would work fine!

A spokesperson for Gogglebox, which is back on our telly’s next week confirmed: “The Moffatt family will not be appearing in this series.”

Such a shame!

This news comes after Scarlett is about to start a new job on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Oh how far she’s come.

As well as her career going from strength-to-strength, the 26-year-old has dumped her boyfriend Luke Crodden after a year together.

Pictured days after breaking up with him, the star shared a photo of herself with Ant & Dec at dinner.

Looks like she has well and truly moved on!
