Ken Barlow’s life hangs in balance on Coronation Street

Is there any way back after being rushed to hospital?

The end is nigh for one of Weatherfield’s favourite characters.

Ken Barlow has been a fixture on Coronation Street since the beginning of the ITV soap but his life could be hanging in the balance.

According to reports, Bill Roache, who plays erstwhile Ken, could be coming to the end of his time on the soap and there could be a very emotional ending.

It was only a couple of months ago that viewers were shocked to see Ken suffer a stroke.

At that time, a ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ order was added to his medical records and this is about to be thoroughly tested.

It is believed that Ken is going to be hit by another stroke.

This time it could be fatal though, as show insiders have told The Sun that his life will be, “hanging on by a thread”.

Corrie sources revealed to the paper: “Ken had only just recovered from the terrible stroke he suffered in October, so this latest attack hits him twice as hard.

“He is rushed to hospital and his life is very much hanging in the balance.

“Obviously for someone who was so recently ill.

“The chances of him coming out of it alive – let alone unscathed – are drastically reduced.”

With Ken looking like he’s facing the end, there is a new beginning for a former favourite.

Helen Flanagan returns as Rosie Webster this week as she surprises her family alongside her sister Sophie.

Following spending time together in Miami, Rosie decides it’s time to spend time back with her family.

Of course, it is not going to be straightforward.

It seems that Rosie has brought a suitcase full of trouble back with her too.

Speaking to Radio Times, Corrie boss Kate Oates revealed: “Rosie is such a colourful character – I thought it’d be great for Sophie.

“I wanted to see Sophie led up the garden path a little bit and to see her in a bit of trouble.

“And I think that Rosie will cause Sophie a lot of headaches.”

The Websters’ reunion may not be as smooth as they all hoped for.
