Honey G has hit back at criticism that she is nothing more than a “blackface” “minstrel” who is offending the black community.

In a searingly honest interview with Jewish News Online, Honey hot back at the likes of Lily Allen who thought she was mocking black culture with her dodgy brand of gold-foil trousered rap.

“Yeah, I’ve read all of that crap,” she raged. “And as I said, I’ve been involved in urban music all my life.

“I’m a producer and natural born performer, so for people to say to me that I’m raping black culture actually feels like it’s them discriminating.”

She went on to say that these people are actually discriminating against HER for choosing to pursue a career in the rap world.

“They’ve got a problem with a white person rapping. The people who’ve come out and insulted me are not exactly spokespeople for the black community.

“No one’s said, ‘I’m speaking on behalf of the black community.’ These people are just haters, they’re never going to get anywhere with preaching hate. It’s literally ridiculous. The most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in my entire life.”

And to prove her devotion to rap she revealed that growing up she used to all sorts of rappers.

“I’ve been into rap music since I was young,’ she explained. “I used to rap along to Snoop Dog albums, Ice Cube, you know. Bone Thugs N Harmony, Salt n’ Pepa, loads of groups that I grew up with.”

Honey – real name Anna Gilford – also revealed that she has been the target of ‘haters’ for many years and has been bullied all her life because of her Jewish roots.

“When I was growing up people used to make fun of me, referring to me as a Jewish princess or talking to me about me looking Jewish, having a Jewish nose, you know. It’s quite insulting.”

Aww… poor Honey, you could almost feel sorry for her, couldn’t you? No-one deserves to be bullied for their religious beliefs or even their dubious attempts at rapping. So come on folks, leave off Honey for just a minute. Yeah? It’s almost Christmas…
