Holby City fans were left in floods of tears after one of the soap’s much-loved characters departed.

Actress Chizzy Akudolu left the BBC show in Tuesday night’s episode after five years as surgeon Mo Effanga.

Mo had briefly split from partner and father of her child Mr T (Ben Hull) but the pair were seen patching things up and leaving for a new life in London.
The emotional scenes lefts fans in bits…

However, actress Chizzy is excited about the future.

She told The Mirror: “Mo’s awesome. I’ve loved playing her and she’s has been such a large part of my life that it felt like a divorce giving her up.

“I’m at least four stone overweight and have issues about that, whereas my two sisters are very slim and toned.

“Mo’s character and life’s so like me, the part could have been written especially for me.

“When I went for the role she was described as a larger-than-life character, unlucky in love, who feels slightly inferior to her sisters.

“I’m the only single person among my friends and family. I’ve had two long-term romances – one of eight years and the last one of six years, which ended in heartbreak just before I joined Holby.

“I was convinced we were going to marry and live happily ever after. So I’m still looking for Mr Right.

Best of luck find him, Chizzy – although if you ever want the adulation of the Holby City audience back instead, we’re all here ready waiting!
