Hollywood A-lister boycotts GMB over Piers Morgan’s opinions

The Hollywood actor had his reasons...

Ewan McGregor was supposed to appear on chat show Good Morning Britain but pulled out last minute.

The Trainspotting 2 actor point blank refused to turn up today citing presenter Piers Morgan’s controversial comments about the Women’s March.

Ewan was due to talk about his latest film on the ITV breakfast show.

Pier and his co-host Susanna Reid were left rather concerned when he failed to show up 20 minutes before his scheduled slot.

He found a tweet on the Hollywood star’s page which said: “Was going on Good Morning Britain, didn’t realise @piersmorgan was host. Won’t go on with him after his comments about #WomensMarch.”

The ex-newspaper journo announced: “Ewan McGregor, who was supposed to be our big guest, just Tweeted this.”

AWKS!

Is it not strange that he didn’t know Piers was host?

Piers continued: “Because I didn’t think the march was a fantastic thing, because I didn’t agree with the politics of it, Ewan McGregor who is an actor, who was here to talk about a movie, has decided he can’t come and talk about his movie, which I think is a shame.

“And kind of plays into my view maybe actors should stick to talking about films and not get whipped up about politics that is not their game.”

Piers was clearly raging: “I’m all up for having a debate, but don’t just not turn up.

“It’s unprofessional.”

The 51-year-old host tweeted back: “Sorry to hear that @mcgregor_ewan – you should be big enough to allow people different political opinions. You’re just an actor after all.”

He then replied to a user and calling him a “coward”.

Oh Piers, let’s not get our knickers in a twist…

Another of Piers’s tweet simply said: “Vainspotting.”

And then followed by: “I’ll be writing a column about @mcgregor_ewan today, once I have sent it to him for his approval.”

Susanna, who was just sat there in shock, then quipped that she only showed up for work with her gobby colleague because it was her in contract.

Ha!

Later on, Mr Morgan just would not let things lie and said: “I think he knows I don’t like Star Wars – that’s why he didn’t come in.”
