So, when Shakil Kazemi first rocked up on our screens the first thing we all noticed about him was his man-bun, his mun, yeah?
Then, back in March, actor Shaheen Jafargholi, shocked fans by unveiling a new, shorter, mun-free ‘do on his Instagram page.
He’s recently spoken out about the change in style, revealing that going from one ‘do to another, really isn’t that easy in soap. Well, what is?
Shaheen told Inside Soap: “You know what, it was a bigger decision than I thought it was going to be!
“You have to wait until you have a gap in filming for continuity – in the end, the process took about two months, and I had to ask about five different people for permission. But it was worth it – I’m a bit lazy when it comes to hair, so I’m happy it’s gone.
“For a while people didn’t recognise me as much, which meant I could go to Tesco in my pyjamas without anyone stopping me to ask for a photo!”
Wait, wait, wait. Tesco in his PJS??? This kid is living the dream.
Shaheen also went on to say that he’s mad keen on the Kazemi patriarch joining the show.
He said: “I’d love it if Shakil’s father came in, because it would be an interesting aspect of Shaki’s family to explore. My dream casting would be Omid Djalili because he looks a bit like my own [dad].”
Shaheen’s new look divided opinion amongst his fans, many loving the new look, and others not so sure.
One wrote: “Nooo the man bun gone.”
“Need the man bun back asap,” agreed another. But others were gushing over the star’s transformation.
One said: “Looks much better young man.” Someone else added: “Loving the hair cut its cute it suits u.”
Shaheen’s character Shakil has had a pretty tough time during his time on the BBC soap recently.
Last month viewers saw the teenager involved in a fight with Keegan Baker over a revenge scandal involving on-screen ex-girlfriend Bex Fowler.
And now it looks as though Shak might be caught up in the fire drama that took over the Walford High Prom last night.
