A blast from the past could soon be wandering back into Albert Square and it is sure send EastEnders fans wild.

Hunky Walford legend Beppe Di Marco could be the latest to make a huge comeback, some 14 years after leaving the square.

Actor Michael Greco has teased a return to the BBC soap after moving back to Blighty – he has spent years as a professional poker player in Los Angeles.

It looks as though he is keen to lay down some roots too as he is now in a relationship with Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring.

This means he is looking for a way back in to British TV.

Speaking to The Sun about an EastEnders comeback, Michael said: “I’d never shut that door.

“If the offer was there, you’d have to consider it.”

Michael also added: “I’ve been in LA off and on for the last 10 years and I don’t watch much telly.

“I haven’t caught up with EastEnders for a long time.”

What he has ruled out though is any appearances alongside Stephanie in Hollyoaks.

He reasoned: “We’ve got too many hunks on Hollyoaks.”

Michael first appeared in EastEnders in 1998 but was cut from the soap in 2002.

The show has just lost two of its most popular ever figures, as Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell met a watery end in a dramatic New Year’s Day special.

Their demise had been teased for months, but there was still huge disappointment as the on-screen sisters said goodbye in a traumatic episode that saw them both drown.

Happy New Year, indeed!
