Coronation Street filming ‘thrown into chaos’

Filming outdoors scenes is a bit of a challenge

The good old British weather is playing havoc with Corrie’s filming schedule.

The cast and crew are meant to be shooting summer scenes – but the Manchester set has been drenched with rain in the June storms.

“Loving that all our summer scenes are being filmed in pouring rain… honest…” wrote Cath Tyldesley.

She also shared a photo of an electric heater. “It’s June… and we’ve got this on in Audrey’s Salon,” she wrote on Instagram.

This isn’t the first time that filming has been hampered by rain.

In February, cast and crew had to pack up as Storm Doris caused chaos.

Exterior scenes involving Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) and her sister Sophie (Brooke Vincent) were dropped from the schedule as heavy wind and rain battered the set.

Helen was filming her comeback scenes on the soap.

Corrie made light of the situation, with the soap’s official Twitter account tweeting a throwback video of Gail Rodwell fighting Tracy Barlow.

“Caution folks!!” they wrote. “Watch out for fierce Gails today. #Corrie #ThrowbackThursday #StormDoris #Doris.”

The actors tweeted about being sent home. “#StormDoris putting a stop to cobble filming @itvcorrie this morning,” wrote Samia Longchambon.

“Back home for snugs, sofa n a film with my monkeys.”

Actress Dolly-Rose Campbell wrote: “Batten down the hatches.”
