Honey G says she is X Factor All Stars’ best chance of getting a Christmas Number One

The rapper came sixth in 2016

X Factor star Honey G made a huge impression when she appeared on the show in 2016.

She may have come in sixth position, narrowly missing the final, but she remains a superstar in her own mind.

And she firmly believes she can WIN the forthcoming X Factor All Stars – and get the coveted Christmas number one position in the charts.

The rapper, real name Anna Georgette Gilford, became a talent show legend three years ago with her Missy Elliot mash-up and performance of California Love (Remix) by Tupac Shakur.

Like Marmite, you either loved her or were “a hater” but fans voted her through until the quarter-final, when she found herself in the bottom two against 5 After Midnight.

After the sing-off, only her mentor Sharon Osbourne voted to keep Honey G, who was eventually eliminated.

She signed a record deal with Simon Cowell’s label, Syco Music, and released her debut single The Honey G Show that same year.

The single reached number 149 in the UK Singles Chart.

Despite this rather feeble chart ranking, the former recruitment consultant believes she’s the secret weapon to make X Factor’s celebrity version a success and vows to reach the Number One slot second time around.

In an interview with The Sun, she said: “I tick all the boxes. Give the people what they want and what the people want is Honey G.”

She added: “Nobody wants to see anyone sing a power ballad. My prediction is if they do that they’ll stick with the low ratings.

“I think I am their best shot at getting Christmas number one.”

Simon are you listening? Hello…? Anyone…?

All we know about X Factor All Stars so far, is that it is replacing the usual X Factor.

The overhaul will see the usual series replaced with two special editions of the show, including a new all-stars version of the show in which successful contestants from past series go head-to-head to be the ultimate winner.

It’s due to air in Autumn 2019.

Honey G – wait in for that phone call.
