It wasn’t just the singing performances that made an impression on some viewers of last night’s The Voice but the discovery of Will.i.am’s age!
The Black Eyed Peas singer revealed how old he is after hearing Cedric Neal audition.
All four coaches turned round after Cedric belted out the Stevie Wonder classic Higher Ground.
When Tom Jones then asked the musical theatre performer how old he is, Cedric replied, “43”.
“Yo! We’re the same age!” Will.i.am then exclaimed giving Cedric the V sign.
Viewers were surprised to discover the hitmaker is in his forties.
“Shocked that Will.i.am is 43,” wrote one.
“Neither Will nor this guy look 43,” said another.

“I forget that as we get old celebrities get old too. will.i.am is 43???” agreed a third.
A fourth said they thought it was “impossible” for Will.i.am to be 43 – but it’s true – he was born in 1975 and he’ll turn 44 in March.
Perhaps the singer’s youthful look is down to the lifestyle overhaul he made last year.
Appearing on Loose Women, he revealed he has become a vegan to lose weight and reduce his cholesterol and blood pressure.
He said: “I weighed a whopping 210lbs, my blood pressure was really high, I had high cholesterol and since then, since December I changed what I eat. I have a plant-based diet, I work out.”
Will.i.am said the diet and exercise has done wonders for his health and helped him overcome bronchitis and congestion problems.
“My blood pressure and cholesterol came down without having to take medicine, my nasal drip has gone, both my nostrils are working – as I always had one nostril that didn’t work! No more nasal drip no more acid reflux,” he said.

And it seems the new regime is also anti-ageing – so pass the lentils!
