Strictly’s Will Bayley ‘could be forced to quit show after knee injury’

Still a hero

Paralympian hero Will Bayley has been an inspiration during his time on Strictly Come Dancing.

Despite his disability, Will has wowed judges and viewers with his courage, energy and ability on the dance floor.

But last week Will had to take time out from the show after suffering a knee injury in rehearsals.

And now reports claim that the 31-year-old former Paralympic gold medal-winning table tennis player could miss the rest of the series.

Last week he was ruled out and given a bye to next week’s round of the BBC One dance show after hurting his leg following an awkward landing during rehearsals for the Halloween special.

According to The Sun, Will may have torn his meniscus ligament – an injury which can take months to heal.

And now the publication reports that Will may be forced to quit.

It’s claimed that Will is seeing a specialist today (30.10.19) for a final consultation, with a very real possibility that he will be advised to leave the show.

A source was quoted as saying: “Will is devastated as he’s put everything into the series and a freak injury looks like it may well be the end of the road for him.

“He’s got a final consultation today and that could be it.

“He’s already had a number of appointments with doctors and physios to see if there is any way he can get through, but with each day of training he misses the less likely it is.”

ED! has contacted reps for Strictly and Will for comment.
