Kelvin also spoke about their win during an appearance on Heart Breakfast radio this morning.

He said: “It still feels quite surreal. I remember standing there Saturday night and just before they announced the winner I was thinking, ‘what am I doing here? This is just crazy.’

“It’s just been amazing. I think it will take a few days to sink in. I just feel so privileged to have been apart of the show in the first place and then to walk away with that famous Glitterball was just insane.”

It wasn’t long until the Strictly family responded on social media.

Runner-up Karim, 26, said: “So proud of you both! Couldn’t be happier. Two amazingly talented people. Love you both dearly!”

Karim’s partner, Amy, also left a message: “Congratulations my beautiful friend! Love you,” she said.

And Oti’s fellow South African pro dance pal, Johannes Radebe, said: “Nana you deserve nothing less.”
