Strictly’s Dianne Buswell ‘not okay’ after Dev Griffin elimination

Dianne and Dev were booted off the show this weekend

Joe Sugg has revealed his girlfriend Strictly Come Dancing pro Dianne Buswell isn’t doing well after being eliminated from the show with Dev Griffin.

On Sunday evening, Dev and Dianne were voted out of the competition after a dance-off against Viscountess Emma Weymouth and Aljaz Skorjanec.

During an appearance on Monday’s Lorraine, former contestant Joe said he doesn’t think Dianne and Dev should have been given the boot.

Host Lorraine Kelly asked him: “Can we talk Strictly? What happened?”

Joe replied: “Good question, what did happen? I think like the rest of the country right now, it’s a massive shock. I’m gutted for Dev and Dianne, it’s just a real shock.”

Lorraine said: “It is. Is she okay?” to which Joe revealed: “No, not really. I really don’t think it should have been them to go.

“They had so much potential and he was brilliant and an amazing student. It just doesn’t seem… it’s weird.”

Dev and Dianne scored 27 points out of 40 for their Cha Cha Cha by the judges during Saturday’s show.

During last night’s results show, judge Craig Revel Horwood said: “The couple that really shone in that particular dance-off and came to life was Emma and Aljaz.”

Bruno Tonioli said: “I have to save the couple that showed no mistake. Emma and Aljaz.”

Motsi Mabuse added: “Particularly on that dance-off, one couple looked more safe, they looked more on top of it. I’m going to save Emma and Aljaz.”

I really don’t think it should have been them to go.

Dev said on the show: “I’m absolutely gutted but learning how to dance and hanging out with Dianne and the pros and other celebrities [has been amazing].”

Dianne added: “Dev has been absolutely amazing, his work ethic is insane. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. He’s so talented and thank you very much.”

The Australian dancer added on Instagram: “My heart is broken. This guy had so much to give and worked so hard.

“I’m so sorry your journey was cut short you have done me so proud, every week you would say you just didn’t want to let me down!

“Dev you so didn’t you were a dream to teach and you were turning into such a great dancer thank you so much for everything.”
