Strictly fans worried injured Neil Jones won’t be ready for Saturday after It Takes Two appearance

He appears to still be on crutches

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing are worried injured pro Neil Jones won’t be recovered in time for this weekend’s live show.

After seeing the dancer on the programme’s companion show It Takes Two last night (31.10.19), Strictly viewers expressed concern that he won’t be ready for Saturday.

Neil, 37, was seen to be still hobbling around with a crutch on It Takes Two.

He said on the programme: “Alex is doing great. I’m hoping that I can dance this with her because she’s looking really good.”

Zoe added, after the training segment aired: “Oh, fingers crossed for Neil dancing on Saturday.”

Reacting on Twitter, one viewer wrote: “I noticed @Mr_NJones was still on crutches during the training session on #ItTakesTwo. Will he be recovered to dance on Saturday’s #Strictly?”

Another said: “I’m hoping Kevin’s involved in Alex’s next dance… can’t see Neil being fit enough to dance on Saturday

A third put: “If Neil is still injured and can’t properly train with Alex, then surely she should get a new partner?! Doesn’t seem fair to me. #Strictly #ItTakesTwo.”

Someone else tweeted: “Poor limpy cuckolded Neil! #ItTakesTwo.”

Last weekend, Neil was replaced by his fellow pro Kevin Clifton, 37, after suffering an injury ahead of his live show performance with celeb partner Alex Scott, 35.

Kevin did a street-style dance to Ghostbusters with the retired footballer and managed to pull it off with only a handful of mistakes, despite having hardly any time to rehearse the moves.

Kevin and his girlfriend, Strictly 2018 winner Stacey Dooley, praised Alex’s performance on social media afterwards.

On his Instagram, Kevin posted a snap of himself and Alex in their Ghostbusters outfits and wrote: “Unbelievable performance from @alexscott2 last night. @mrjonesofficial and myself were so proud of her.

“At the last minute her partner gets an injury. Has to pass the routine on to another professional in about 45 minutes. Then even when I made a mistake she carried on and got me through the routine. Talk about calm under pressure.”

Last weekend, Alex appeared to cast doubt on Neil being recovered in time for the next live show.

She said, speaking during the Halloween elimination episode: “I think it’s testament to Neil actually, the way he teaches me and makes me learn every dance just in case anything happens like that. So partner get well, hopefully, we don’t know about next week yet but thank you for the way he’s just making me learn.”
