Strictly Come Dancing: Shirley Ballas insists she will return tonight

Despite being in pain from a four hour operation

Shirley Ballas will defy doctors orders and return to the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel tonight.

The head judge has also urged women to rethink breast implants after having hers removed.

She recently underwent a four hour operation to have her implants removed due to cancer fears, and has now said she hopes young women will learn to love their own bodies, rather than get “all these procedures”.

She said: “Don’t think you need to have these procedures to make you look more attractive.

“For young women, if someone is making you feel bad about yourself, talk to someone.

“But don’t do what I did. You can’t make somebody love you, no matter what you do to yourself.

“You can get implants, you can get all these procedures, thinking you will be more of a woman for that person.

“But it does not make a difference. If they don’t love you, they won’t no matter what you do to your appearance. It’s learning to love yourself.”

And for those still considering implants, the 59-year-old star urged them to “do their research” into the possible risks.

Shirley made the decision to remove her DD breast implants and embrace her natural A cup after she discovered a potentially dangerous capsule that had grown unexpectedly.

And the star is speaking out about her experience in order to encourage other women to think about the dangers associated with implants.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: “I already feel more comfortable. Especially with sleeping. The implants had started to feel heavy and cause me anxiety. It felt like they were not part of me.”

She says she’s pleased with her “little boobies” and with the breast lift she had, and is working on “learning to love [herself]” again.

Shirley intends to return to Strictly Come Dancing for Saturday’s (November 2) live episode, against the orders of her doctor.

“I have stuck to all of Dr Waterhouse’s rules apart from one, which was: “Don’t go to work on Saturday!'”

Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One tonight at 7pm.
