Strictly: Chris Ramsey is battling numerous injuries ahead of live shows

He can hopefully keep dancing…

After Jamie Laing pulled out of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing due to an injury, another star has revealed that he is battling a series of ailments ahead of the live shows.

Comedian Chris Ramsey has revealed he has a “brutal” injury that has already landed him in with the show’s physios four times.

Chris – who is married to wife Rosie and dad to three-year-old son Robin – revealed that the injuries first came to light while he was in group dance training.

Ahead of the weekend’s launch show, he told The Mirror: “We’ve done the group dancing training, so three or four days solid of dancing, and I’ve already had four physio sessions.”

Chris revealed that his back went into a spasm because his posture is “terrible” and he doesn’t “warm up right”.

He said: “I had acupuncture in my back and a massage on my back because it was in a little spasm.”

He added: “My left calf was all tight and my right groin, it was ridiculous. The physios are that good I was absolutely fine after it happened, but you’ve just got to warm up and warm down and know your limit.”

He told Lorraine: “Everyone says about the Strictly curse but me and my wife have been together for seven years and married for five years.”

Ever the comedian, Chris continued: “We have a three-year-old son but, more importantly, the top podcast in the UK.”

Joking, he quipped: “If you think I’m jeopardising that…”

During the launch show it was revealed that Chris will be dancing with Strictly professional Karen Hauer.
