Axe falls on Strictly Come Dancing favourite following viewer complaints

But who has been given the chop?

There are more changes for Strictly Come Dancing this week after we announced yesterday that Sunday’s show would be moving.

Now, bosses have axed a key element of Zoe Ball’s It Takes Two spin-off show.

SID, the Strictly Interactive Device, has been given the boot.

Zoe, gave viewers the opportunity to decide SID’s fate early on in Wednesday night’s show.

Admitting that the AI device had “divided opinion of you at home”, Zoe asked: “Should we pull the plug on SID? It’s totally up to you.

“The vote closes at 6.50pm tonight so you don’t have long, lovely SID!”

SID, the robot tasked with reading out viewer tweets, which was a hit with some fans had faced calls from others to be unplugged.

They voiced their annoyance on Twitter.

Zoe made the announcement on last night’s show.

She said: “The vote has been closed and they’ve been counted and the results are in and I’m afraid to say, it’s goodbye SID,” before adding that she was “bereft”.

There is no official word yet on who will now read the tweets out on the show.

Meanwhile, Strictly professional Katya Jones is reportedly worried that she too may end up at the unemployment centre.

According to The Sun, sources claim that Katya, who is married to fellow pro Neil Jones, is concerned about her future on the BBC show, due to last month’s kissing scandal.

The dancer was pictured snogging her dance partner Seann Walsh is reportedly worried that the dalliance has “left a black mark that can’t be removed against their names”.
