Christopher, who appeared in series seven in 2007, was on the show to plug his new Christmas panto.

But the conversation soon turned to this year's rumble in the jungle.

"She came to me for some advice the last time I was on the programme, we discussed it and I rang her and we talked about," he said.

When co-host Ben Shephard asked him what his advice was, he replied: "Don’t do it!"

"She was tempted I think but I think she will do very very well, I think it’s an interesting line-up and half the people I have no idea who they are but I think that’s the same with all shows nowadays," he continued.

"Caitlin Jenner is a very good booking and I think she will be terrific and will put the cat among the pigeons."

Kate and her fellow contestants will be seen for the first time Down Under on Sunday night (17.11.19) when the fun and games begin.

Christopher said he would love to see former This Morning presenter Richard Madeley appear on this series as a late entrant.

He added: "I hope James Haskell's father-in-law will go in. Richard Madeley, can you imagine that?

"I think he's up for anything is Richard. I think it would be very good if he went in late."

Coronation Street favourite Andrew Whyment is reportedly expected to join the show after the series has got underway on Sunday (17.11.19), and he will apparently be joined by another famous face.

The pair will join the likes of former footballer Ian Wright, singer Nadine Coyle, and Rak-Su star Myles Stephenson in the jungle.

Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts, comedian Andrew Maxwell, ex-EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa, Capital Radio DJ Roman Kemp, and former England rugby player James Haskell, are also heading Down Under.
