I’m A Celebrity fans admit they don’t want Ant McPartlin to come back

Holly Willoughby has been filling in for him on the show

Holly Willoughby has done an amazing job filling in for Ant McPartlin on this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

And it seems her banter with co-star Dec Donnelly and her reaction to the Bushtucker trials has won over viewers as some fans have admitted they don’t want Ant to return next year.

During Sunday night’s show, Holly amused viewers with her reaction to Noel Edmonds and Nick Knowles’ Bushtucker trial as she became overly excited every time they managed to bag a star.

She also melted hearts when she hugged Anne Hegerty after The Chase star ate a witchetty grub during the show’s live trial.

After last night’s show, viewers shared their thoughts on Twitter and admitted they want Holly to return next year rather than Ant.

One person said: “Been following #t’s actually good this year. Can Ant stay at home next year as well? Holly Willoughby far better.”

Another wrote: “I am loving @hollywills on @imacelebrity this year actually think I prefer to Ant is that bad of me.”

A third tweeted: “Wasn’t sure about Holly presenting this at first but now I’m like ‘Ant.. who??'”

However, others are still missing Ant and can’t wait for him to return.

But one viewer suggested that Ant, Holly and Dec should host the show all together.

They wrote: “Can we please have Ant, Dec and Holly presenting next year.”

Holly is filling in for Ant while he takes the rest of the year off to focus on his sobriety.

Speaking about replacing Ant on the show over the summer, Holly said in a statement at the time: “I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery.

“These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit.”

But it seems Holly proved to be a lucky charm for the show as it enjoyed its most-watched launch since 2013 on November 18.

Some 11 million people tuned in for the first episode – up 700,000 on last year, according to overnight ratings.
