I’m A Celebrity producers ‘won’t be bringing Holly Willoughby back’, despite viewers’ demands

They're said to be sticking to their guns, despite falling ratings

Bosses of the ITV jungle show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! have reportedly dismissed the idea of bringing Holly Willoughby back as a presenter.

Holly stood in for regular host Ant McPartlin last year, and during her stint the show’s ratings soared to a record high.

Many viewers have since been clamouring for the This Morning star to return.

However, despite a reported fall in ratings this year, a story in The Daily Star claims that the show’s producers are keen to stick with Ant and Dec Donnelly.

With Ant taking some time out to deal with his well-documented personal problems, Holly stepped into his shoes for the 2018 series – and went down a storm with viewers.

A massive 12.6 million people tuned in to watch her first week on the show.

Unsurprisingly, then, since this series started there have been numerous calls to bring her back into the fold.

Even with the ratings going down, they are still confident that the lads are the best presenters for the show.

One viewer moaned: “Prefer Holly Willoughby presenting I’m A Celeb. Bring her back asap.”

Another said: “I miss @hollywills in I’m A Celebrity. They should have 3 presenters, it would be so good!”

And a third added: “Last year on I’m A Celeb, Holly Willoughby wore brilliant outfits every single night. Ant and Dec are wearing some of the most boring clothes I’ve seen in my life. Bring back Holly.”

However, according to The Daily Star’s story, a sensational return for Holly looks unlikely – despite the fact that only 5.46 million people tuned in to last Saturday’s episode.

A source told the newspaper: “Producers like having Ant and Dec back together.

“Even with the ratings going down, they are still confident that the lads are the best presenters for the show.

“That means they won’t be bringing Holly back.”

Of course, Holly might not even have wanted to return to the Australian jungle for another series.

The star, who reportedly earned £23,000 a day for fronting the show, joked on This Morning last month that she was “still traumatised” by the experience.
