I’m a Celebrity final trials spark ‘torture’ accusations from fans

Hard to watch at times

Fans of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! have accused ITV of ‘torture’ after putting the three finalists through absolutely horrific Bushtucker Trials in the last episode of the series.

In tonight’s (08.12.19) final, Jacqueline, Andy and Roman all had to do Trials on their own.

Jacqueline was tied down spreadeagle in a giant star and covered in thousands of creepy crawlies.

She initially thought she simply had to lie there and allow the critters to crawl all over her, but in a terrifying twist towards the end of the Trial, she was covered in hunstman spiders and told she had to hold one in her mouth for a full minute.

The former EastEnders actress was visibly trembling and on the verge of tears throughout the challenge.

In Andy’s Trial, he had to eat a number of horrible dishes – including a camel’s hoof and giant grub.

But it was the pig’s testicle that got the Corrie actor gagging, and viewers at home rushed to Twitter to reveal how it left them feeling sick.

DJ Roman, the last of the three to take on his final trial of the series, was locked in a coffin and covered in sand, before dozens of snakes were pushed into the container with him.

On Twitter, many viewers thought the Trials were overly harsh – with some slamming producers for putting Jacqueline, in particular, through ‘literal torture’.

One said: “Jacqueline’s trial is literally a form of torture, who the hell approved this?!”
