Departing Corrie star Lucy Fallon ‘rules out’ I’m A Celebrity stint

She wants to 'keep her options open'

Soap star Lucy Fallon seems to have ruled herself out of the I’m A Celebrity 2019 line up – despite admitting she hopes to ‘keep her options open’ for life after Weatherfield.

The Coronation Street actress, 23, has played troubled Bethany Platt since 2015 but will be moving on after it was confirmed she will be departing “to pursue other projects” earlier this summer.

Those plans may not include a trip down under for the ITV reality series, however, even though Lucy told a tabloid she’d be interested in getting away for a bit once she’s done on Corrie.

Lucy is quoted as telling the Daily Star Sunday: “I don’t know what I want to do next. I’m keeping my options open.

“I’ll see what happens. I’ll maybe have a bit of a holiday after I finish at Corrie.

“There are loads of things I’d like to do. At the moment I don’t think I want to do stuff like I’m A Celebrity. I’d rather see what happens first.”

It is believed Lucy’s character could be at the centre of a prominent soap storyline over Christmas.

However, it has also been reported Bethany may still feature in scenes until next March.

And she is also hopeful that Bethany will not be killed off, even though she admits she has no idea what scriptwriters have in store for her character.

Other names rumoured to be in the frame for I’m A Celebrity are Corrie’s Alan HalsallLove Islander Olivia Attwood, ex EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa, former rugby star James Haskell and Paul Hollywood’s ex Summer Monteys-Fullam.

Piers Morgan has also been making plenty of noise about being happy to ‘munch on kangaroo testicles’ for a £5million fee.

But ex I’m A Celebrity campmate Rebekah Vardy has scoffed at his chances of lasting out, doubting the GMB host has the stomach to manage five minutes in the jungle.

I’m A Celebrity is expected to return to ITV in late November.
