Remember when The Great British Bake Off left the BBC for Channel 4?
It seems like a long time ago now, but, for a while, no one knew if the transfer would be a success.
However, any fears of the show becoming a big soggy bottom were instantly dismissed after the first episode pulled in a peak audience of 6.78 million viewers, making it a bona fide hit.
The show's new presenting line- up, consisting of Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding and QI's Sandi Toksvig, has proven to be a smash with fans.
Even Paul Hollywood has remained popular after being the only original Bake Off to stay with the show, and his co- judge, Prue Leith, seemed right at home straight away.
Of course, such a loyal fanbase of millions means that whenever something happens on the Bake Off, it becomes pretty big news.
Kate received tons of marriage proposals
That's certainly what one contestant has discovered after mentioning she wasn't married on the show.
Kate Lyons, 29, has baked her way into the show's final three, going into Tuesday night's final against Sophie Faldo and Stephen Carter- Bailey.
Now, her mum, Anna, has revealed that Kate's single status has alerted the nation's singletons and led to some interesting offers even though Kate has a boyfriend.
“Kate received tons of marriage proposals when she said she wasn’t married, some offering to divorce their wives,” says Anna.
Kate, a health and safety inspector from Merseyside, is also called 'Superwoman' by her mum, because of having to juggle her job and studies for a masters degree alongside trips away to film Bake Off.
Kate only began baking two years ago and says that a lot of the equipment is still new to her.
“I haven’t got a mixer at home and the first time I used one was in the Bake Off tent,” she says.
“I didn’t have a clue how to use the equipment and when I bake at home, I am just in my own little chill out world.”
That little world might get less chilled out if Kate wins, and she'll certainly be getting more offers!
