Matt Evers reveals Gemma Collins will miss DOI rehearsals as she’s ‘in a really bad way’

She took a tumble on the ice on Sunday night's show

Matt Evers has revealed his Dancing On Ice partner Gemma Collins will miss rehearsals today after her fall during last night’s show.

Gemma, 37, fell face first onto the ice towards the end of her performance and fought back tears as she awaited the judges’ scores.

Matt has now said the former TOWIE star was “in a really bad way” after the fall and they’re going to see if she’ll be able to rehearse tomorrow.

Speaking to The Sun, Matt said: “Gemma will miss rehearsals today, and we’ll see how she is tomorrow.

“Her knees were banged up, she was in a really bad way. She had an ice pack on her knee at dinner with [her boyfriend] Arg and friends until midnight.”

Revealing why Gemma fell, Matt explained that she “was wearing a longer dress which is harder to skate in” and caught the “spiky bit at the front of the boot” on the ice which “sent her flying”.

He said paramedics checked her wrists and chest to “give her the all clear and put an ice pack on her knees for 20 minutes”.

The star also hit back at critics who accused Gemma of ‘faking’ the fall.

He added: “To all those people who said she staged it, that is just ridiculous. If she had, she’s in the wrong show. She should be a stunt woman. That’s just the furthest from the truth.”

Gemma received her highest score of the series for her routine despite the fall.

Judge Ashley Banjo told her: “I was gutted for you but you still got out what you put in, and that was your best skate.”

Jason Gardiner added: “When you drop the ‘GC’ and you apply yourself, you improve. My only concern is if there is enough improvement and can you catch up with the celebrities who are well ahead of you?”

During the show, her boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent spoke to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about Gemma’s fall.

Asked by the duo how he felt when he saw his girlfriend fall, Arg said: “My heart completely sank.

“I’ve just been with her backstage. She’s crying her eyes out, she feels embarrassed. She is in pain, she’s got ice packs on her knees.

“I’ve just got to say quickly that if she’s in the bottom two tonight, if she goes home, I’m so proud of her. I love her so much.”
