DOI’s Matt Evers reveals truth behind bitter ‘feud’ with Jason Gardiner

The Dancing On Ice pro said he barely speaks to the judge

Dancing On Ice skater Matt Evers has revealed he barely speaks to judge Jason Gardiner after he “outed” him as gay years ago.

Despite the pair working alongside each other on the skating show for 11 series, Matt explained that they have a rather frosty relationship since the incident in 2013.

Speaking on Heart Radio on Monday, the 42-year-old pro skater said: “I don’t really talk to him in the studio.

“He keeps to himself… I’ve worked with him now for 11 TV series and known Jason for 13 years now and never once really have spoken to him outside of work.”

He went on to explain that the real drama with Jason began when he was partnered with Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson in 2013.

Matt added: “When I skated with Pamela Anderson a couple of years back there were rumours in the press that her and I were sleeping together, which was not the case. Hello!

“But he kinda outed me a little bit, oh he was like ‘I don’t think Matt would go for that one’ and I just kind of thought ‘that’s not cool, dude!'”

Matt’s revelations come after Jason gave harsh critique of his and Gemma Collins’ first performance on the ice last week.

Jason, 47, insisted 37-year-old TOWIE star Gemma is all “talk” and doesn’t have “any technique.”

He also branded their routine a “French and Saunders parody”.

Gemma and Matt will be taking to the ice again this Sunday, so will Jason be more impressed this time?

It comes days after Matt defended Gemma after trolls said vicious things about her on Twitter.

After the official Dancing On Ice Twitter page shared a clip of Gemma’s performance, one critic responded with the comment: “Giant Haystacks in Drag.”

Matt replied: “Sue… I might be gay and Gemma a woman but because we wear makeup on television and wear gold sequins does NOT warrant a comment like this. I suggest you don’t go there.”
