Dancing On Ice: First look at the celebrities as they take to the ice

Getting their skates on!

After model Caprice was announced as the twelfth and final star joining the 2020 Dancing On Ice line-up, the stars have put on their skates and taken to the ice for the first time.

Posing for a group photograph with Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean ahead of their training session, Maura Higgins, Michael Barrymore, Joe Swash and their ice pals were beaming.

However, some of their smiles turned to grimaces as they were put through their paces by the former Olympians.

After her summer shenanigans on Love Island, Maura looked like she was having a whale of a time, with Christopher Dean lifting the smiling star off the ice.

Diversity’s Perri Kiely was pictured mid-spin with Jayne and Chris, no doubt keen to show off his BGT-winning moves on the ice.

Model Caprice looked full of confidence as she skated with Chris. She had earlier revealed that she was “excited” to take part in the show.

She admitted: “No nerves yet. I’m more excited than anything.”

Strike It Lucky star Michael Barrymore, however, approached the ice with some trepidation.

He seemed nervous and a little wobbly as he was led round the ice by Jayne Torvill.

It appears there’s a way to go before he’s ready for the Bolero!

When Michael was announced as part of the line-up he revealed he was excited to meet the show’s hosts, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, and said: “I’m very excited… it’s performance time!”
