Brian McFadden 'may have to pull out of DOI due to back injury'

He's being monitored by physio

Brian McFadden is reportedly looking "unlikely" to skate on this weekend's Dancing on Ice due to a back injury.

The 38-year-old singer has seen the show's physio this week after damaging his rotator cuff, a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint, following a fall last week.

A backstage source told The Sun newspaper: "Brian has been throwing himself into training but is finding it really tough as his back is giving him issues.

"He has been to see the show's physio, but it's looking increasingly unlikely that he will have to pull out of the show.

"Obviously he's determined to keep trying but he knows there's only so much he can do without inflicting a serious injury and causing long-term damage."

A spokesman for the ITV show said: "Brian has a bad back and is currently being monitored by our show physio."

It comes after fellow celebrity contestant Jane Danson fainted in rehearsals just hours before she was due to take to the ice on Sunday's (03.02.19) live episode.

Despite being carried off the ice on a stretcher on Sunday afternoon after she collapsed, the Coronation Street actress managed to recover and went on to score her best points tally to date, 23.5, from the judges.

She later thanked her pro skater partner Sylvain Longchambon for "saving her".

Jane wrote on Twitter: "Thank you to the make up team for sprinkling their magic and making me feel me again. Massive thanks to @BhamPhysioLtd and @slongchambon for saving me today. And thank you for voting x. (sic)"
