Richard Madeley makes dig at Amanda Holden over reaction to BGT act

The Good Morning Britain host isn't convinced

Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley has accused Amanda Holden of faking her terror during creepy act The Haunting on Britain’s Got Talent.

The GMB presenter said he reckoned Amanda was putting on an act for the live show last night, which saw her drop an F-bomb live on air.

After watching the dramatic footage of the 48-year-old’s screams, Richard wasn’t convinced and said: “Surely she was acting?”

The 63-year-old host went on: “Do you think she was acting? She couldn’t have been frightened by that she knew what was coming.”

Amanda appeared to not know what was going on as she was led down to the basement of the BGT theatre and made to take part in the live act with contestant Elizabeth.

The BGT judge shrieked with terror as she was told she was haunted by the ghost of an old woman called Agatha and her 11-year-old daughter, who both appeared in front of Amanda during the act.

But some fans claimed they also heard head judge Simon Cowell telling Amanda not to ‘over-act’ before she took part in creepy Elizabeth’s stunt.

Amanda apologised when she returned to her seat, saying: “I really want to apologise for saying a terrible word. I know my kids are watching so I apologise for that. I can honestly say I feel terrified.”

Ofcom received 192 complaints from viewers over the terrifying performance and when Amanda accidentally swore during it.
