Bookies reveal favourite to win Britain’s Got Talent tonight

The finale will air tonight

The nation will be crowning its Britain’s Got Talent winner during tonight’s finale.

A string of various acts have made it through to the final including magicians, singers, comedians and dancers.

However, Colin Thackery, an 89-year-old singer and Korean War hero, is currently the favourite to win.

During his audition, Colin left judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and viewers emotional as he sang Wind Beneath My Wings, made famous by Bette Midler.

Colin dedicated the number to his late wife Joan, who died three years ago after more than 60 years of marriage.

He then wowed the audience and judges with a beautiful rendition of wartime classic We’ll Meet Again – which was also in tribute to Joan – during the semi-final last week.

Bookies have placed his odds at 4/6 to become the 2019 champion of Britain’s Got Talent.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: “Colin Thackery is clearly the man to beat but we have had a number of red hot favourites (Susan Boyle) get beaten on the night.”

Meanwhile, policeman Dave and his dog Finn are close behind, with odds being placed at 6/1.

During their audition, Dave revealed that he was once set upon by a man with a 10-inch knife and, as Finn jumped in to protect him, the brave dog was stabbed and left fighting for his life.

“Seeing my friend on the brink of death broke my heart,” Dave revealed.

The mind-reading double act made it through to the semi-final and then won a spot in the finale.

Yesterday, BGT announced that dance duo Libby and Charlie are this year’s wildcard act, therefore, they will also be competing in the final.

The winner of BGT will perform in front of the Royal Family at the Royal Variety Performance.
