BGT viewers in hysterics over crew member’s stage blunder

Did you spot the blunder?

A Britain’s Got Talent crew member accidentally got caught on stage during a performance on Wednesday’s live semi-final.

Acrobatic dance group Acrocadabra, who perform a dance and acrobatics routine with magic tricks, were finishing up their routine by pulling a cloth off of a box to show one of the dancers had disappeared.

But as the cloth came off, a member of the show’s production team was seen crouching down behind the box and his horrified expressed suggested that he wasn’t supposed to be there!

After realising he was caught on camera, the crew member appeared to mouth a few naughty words!

Viewers spotted the blunder immediately and shared screenshots of the crew member on Twitter.

One person said: “If you’re worried about work today, spare a thought for the crew member who found himself on the # stage accidentally last night.”

Another quipped: “Oh god, the crew member appearing outside the box on #bgt is still making me LOL.”

But judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams didn’t notice – or didn’t choose to address – the hilarious moment.

Following the live semi-final, host Stephen Mulhern told the judges about the blunder during Britain’s Got More Talent.

He told the panel: “Here’s something that will make you smile, this was my highlight of the night.

“The first act Acrocadabra, all [the crew member] had to do was push on the illusion at the end with the box and when they pulled off the cloth, he had to get off the stage behind the dancers.”

“For some reason, I think he forgot because this happened,” Stephen added, before a clip of the hilarious blunder was shown.

Stephen said: “It’s trending worldwide!”

Meanwhile, the blunder has still been a hot topic today.

On Thursday’s This Morning, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford discussed the moment with Diversity’s Jordan Banjo, who’s been reporting on the semi-finals for This Morning this week.

Ruth said: “I just loved it because he had nowhere to go, did he?”

Jordan added: “I loved that this was their big trick and there’s just this crew member. He was horrified. I won’t repeat what he mouthed on stage.

“I think Britain’s Got Talent has just gone a bit nuts!”
