Holby SPOILER: Major incident pushes Holby City to the limits

There's drama heading for the hospital

There is drama galore in this week’s trip to Holby, but don’t be caught out by the schedule change.

Because of football fixtures, Holby will be shown on Wednesday night instead of the usual Tuesday slot.

But while we might have to wait an extra day for our medical drama fix, it’s definitely going to be worth the wait.

This special episode, entitled ‘The Anniversary Waltz’ marks 70 years of the NHS, and staff at the hospital have organised a party to celebrate the milestone.

But of course things don’t quite go to plan when there is a major incident that pushes Holby staff to their limits and the party plans are put on hold.

But while the celebrations might have to wait, there is plenty going on at the hospital to keep staff on their toes.

First Serena is reminded of a patient she looked after years ago when she comes face-to-face with a man from her past.

With the odds stacked against her, can she repeat the success from all that time ago and do the same again?

She isn’t alone in her battle though, because Ric is there to help. Will the pair succeed together?

Jac and Abigail find themselves arguing over a patient who is about to have a heart transplant, with their views about the man who is due a life-saving operation clashing, can their put their differences aside?

But with Jac back at work it starts to become apparent that the transplant patient isn’t Abigail’s only concern.

Elsewhere, Sheilagh reflects on the NHS and the importance of what it has achieved over the years.

Spurred on by Dom’s feelings for her grandson, she gives Lofty one last present before she leaves Holby…
