Fans of This Morning have slammed presenter Phillip Schofield over his presenting style during his interview with Jeremy Corbyn.
On today’s (03.12.19) episode of the daytime TV programme, co-hosts Holly Willoughby and Phil were joined in the studio by the Labour leader, who was on to talk about the party and its policies in the run up to the General Election.

Phil said, as the conversation inevitably moved on to claims of antisemitism in Labour: “Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis has said that Jews are justifiably anxious about the idea of Jeremy Corbyn becoming Prime Minister.
“A poison sanctioned from the top has taken root in Labour. 130 cases of antisemitism were outstanding against Labour members. So here is your opportunity, now, to apologise to the Jewish community for any antisemitism by Labour members.”
Corbyn began to respond: “Look, our party has… can I make it clear…”
But Phil interrupted: “Just say sorry!”
“Wait a minute,” Corbyn replied, as he started to explain, “Our party…”
At that point, Phil told him, “No! Just say sorry” and when the Labour leader asked if he could say something, Phil insisted, “I want you to say sorry.”
Corbyn replied: “Our party and me, does not accept antisemitism in any form.”
Phil asked: “So are you sorry for anything that has happened?”
“Obviously I am very sorry for everything that’s happened,” the politician said, adding: “But I want to make this clear – I am dealing with it.”
Some viewers at home took issue with the way Phil handled the interview, with some calling him “rude” and others branding the chat a “disaster”.
One said on Twitter: “Phil was a disaster interviewing Corbyn. Ever heard of being impartial? #thismorning.”
Another wrote: “Feel sorry for Jeremy Corbyn having to be interviewed by Phil and Holly on #ThisMorning! He showed much grace and patience answering their basic and inane questions! ‘Are you tired, Jeremy?'”
Phil was a disaster interviewing Corbyn.
A third tweeted: “#ThisMorning who the hell does Schofield think he is, Andrew Neil? How dare he barrage Jeremy Corbyn to say sorry, what for? Being something he’s NOT. Bad move, Schofield, you didn’t look big or clever, but downright RUDE and bullying. Shocking, hope you’re as rude with Johnson.”
“#ThisMorning Phil, you are not a credible interviewer,” said a fourth, adding: “Stick to We Buy Any Car and leave the professional stuff to #AndrewNeil.”
A fifth wrote: “Phil [on] This Morning, just bloody rude and even worse that the @thismorning producers in his ear thinking ‘Wooow, great TV’ when it’s really car crash and bloody rude.”

Not everyone was against Phil, though, as one tweeted: “@UKLabour in some state when #ThisMorning host Phillip Schofield completely owned @jeremycorbyn” and another cheered: “Go on, Phillip!”
