Eamonn Holmes has hit back at a fan who questioned his pairing of a suit with a certain type of footwear choice while presenting This Morning.
Eamonn and wife and presenting partner Ruth Langsford were hosting a golf-themed segment in celebration on the British Open being held in Portrush in Eamonn’s home country of Northern Island.

As the duo was enjoying a round of Eamonn and Ruth-themed mini-golf, cameras panned down to Eamonn’s shoes.
Some viewers noticed that he was wearing a comfortable-looking pair of casual pumps instead of his usual smart shoes.
One took to Twitter to query his pairing of a suit with what she thought were trainers.
The viewer wrote: “Whilst on mat leave I’m becoming one those ‘daytime tv watchers’ and spotting random things like @EamonnHolmes wearing trainers with a suit on #thismorning” followed by a woman shrugging emoji.
Eamonn immediately set her straight, by saying: “And…..? Incidentally, they are not trainers – they are Jimmy Choos.”
Another viewer left a message, referring to the hip replacement surgery he had last year.
The Tweeter wrote: “And very fitting for people who have had hip operations. Very comfy and very Expensive. Lovely Eamonn,” followed by a red heart emoji.
Eamonn underwent a double hip replacement surgery in 2016.
The star revealed he had suffered from excruciating pain for 25 years before going under the knife to sort the problem once and for all.
He also revealed he thought his other half Ruth Langsford was an angel after waking from surgery.
“Ruth’s face was the first thing I saw. I said if this is Heaven, you’re the angel that I want.”
