This Morning fans divided as show broadcasts live from Downton Abbey

If you don't watch Downton, there's nothing to see here

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are coming to us live from Downton Abbey on today’s This Morning – and not all fans are happy about it.

A delighted Holly practically squealed with joy as she and Phil sat on the This Morning sofa in the grounds of Highclere Castle, where Downton Abbey is set.

As they introduced the upcoming programme for the morning’s show it seems the day will be filled with Downton content.

From a section about old-fashioned manners, to vintage fashion and chatting to the cast of the upcoming Downton movie, even the cooking segment is devoted to scone making.

And not everyone is happy about the ‘overkill’ on the ITV period drama, which has a film version coming out on Friday September 13.

Some viewers were thrilled with what they were watching.

But others thought the show wasn’t being inclusive enough and there was nothing for them if they didn’t watch Downton Abbey.

Some even switched off almost straight away.

It looked pretty windy as Holly and Phil opened the show with cast members Jim Carter (Mr Carson) Tuppence Middleton, and Michael Fox (Andrew Parker).

They then spoke to the Lady Carnarvon, who lives at Highclere.

Meanwhile, Alison Hammond is chatting with all the staff who work at the castle in real-life, and Kelly Brook is visiting the gardens.
