New dad Gregg Wallace says he’s finding sleepless nights ‘difficult’

The celebrity chef is very, very tired!

Celebrity chef Gregg Wallace has returned to work, six weeks after welcoming son Sid, his first child with his wife Anne-Marie.

The new parents took part in a cooking segment on This Morning, making baked crepes from their new joint cookbook for the show’s hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Revealing that Sid was “really good”, Anna – as Gregg calls his wife – said that her mum Rina was at home “looking after him”.

“She’s on baby duty at the moment,” she said, as Gregg waved to the cameras and said hello to his son.

Revealing that the first six weeks with their newborn had gone “really quickly”, Phil asked Gregg if he was a “hands-on” dad.

While Anna assured Phil that the MasterChef host was a doting dad, Gregg replied: “I’m good.”

The celebrity chef – who Ent Daily reported brought up his two eldest children, Tom and Libby, as a “single dad” – did have one gripe, though.

He said: “I like changing nappies – I’ve been wee’d on three times. I like feeding, I like winding him, but I find the sleepless nights difficult.”

Addressing Holly, who has three young children, he continued: “You’ll understand, you’ve got to get up in front of the camera the next day and it’s not easy.”

However, he added that the couple have plenty of help at home because “you don’t just marry an Italian, you marry the whole family”.

Mother-in-law Rina lives with them, while Anna’s father Massimo is coming over to the UK soon.

Gregg recently opened up about becoming a father for the third time at the age of 54.

Getting emotional when telling the Loose Women panel about being an “old dad”, Gregg said the couple haven’t ruled out trying for another baby.

He said: “I did say to Anne-Marie I wasn’t sure because, by the time you’re my age, normally your children have grown up and you can have time with your wife again. I’m going to be in my 70s when Sid’s 20.”
