Eamonn Holmes replaces Ruth Langsford with Gemma Collins on This Morning

She's a natural!

Eamonn Holmes has joked that Gemma Collins should replace Ruth Langsford on This Morning.

Reality TV queen Gemma appeared on Wednesday’s show to speak about her new show Diva Forever and her life in the limelight.

But at one point, Gemma took over Ruth’s spot on the show and even showed off her autocue reading skills.

Eamonn then stood up and sat next to Gemma.

After Gemma admitted she boasts ratings on shows she appears on, Eamonn said: “Every time you were talking about ratings going through the roof, I thought this could be a new future.

“This could be ‘The GC and the EH’. This is the new brand. That’s the future,” as he put his arm around Gemma while they beamed towards the camera.

Eamonn then asked Gemma: “Would you ever go into telly presenting?”

The star – also known as The GC – replied: “Who knows. But what I’m passionate about is saving animals and keeping it real.”

As Gemma’s interview came to an end, Eamonn joked: “It’s me and Rochelle [Humes] tomorrow as you’re off,” as Ruth confirmed she has the day off.

Ruth quipped: “Yeah, I can sit here and relax. Go on Gem.”

Eamonn added: “It could be me and Gemma next week.”

Earlier in the interview, Gemma claimed she’s a “global icon”.

Speaking about her alter-ego The GC, Gemma said: “That’s The GC. I make great TV, I provide you with entertainment and it’s how I make my money.

“I make brilliant TV. Every production company wants me, you sign up with me and you get what you want.

“I make jaw-dropping TV but it’s just fun.”

Speaking about her stint on Dancing On Ice earlier this year, Gemma said: “When I left Dancing On Ice, the viewings dropped by 2.7 million.

“Everyone was just so upset [that I left], especially the producers as they were like, ‘how are we going to get the ratings up?'”
